Elementary School EFL Learning Experience: A Needs Analysis

Regular curriculum modifications and the shift from a teacher-centered to learner-centered paradigm in educational institutions are meant enhance teaching-learning process fulfill learners' needs as successfully possible. This study aimed examine attitudes towards learning English, their needs/wants, preferences, strategies, lesson topics. Moreover, it also investigated differences preferences based on grade level. The data were gathered survey administrated 200 elementary school students Central Bosnia Herzegovina. findings illustrated that participants generally have positive attitude English with more significant extrinsic reasons motivating them learn it. Regarding students' needs, analysis revealed overall, found writing most challenging speaking desirable language skill. Furthermore, majority of reported they like by reading texts or stories, finding discussion classroom annoying activity. While vocabulary translating new words is regarded beneficial method, doing written exercises at presents way acquiring grammar. identified influence level preferred ways English.
